What kind of surger protector could I use for a 10000 btu a/c?

I dont have a wall outlet for my a/c so I use a surge protector. Now I have a 10000 btu and whenever I use the surge protector wit the a/c the a/c and fan switch back and forth and it doesnt cool long enough and it blew out my lights once. It doesnt have a energy saver button I checked. Now what im asking is, is there a surge protector strong enough that will take the power from the a/c and will not blow my lights out and cool the room off?
