I like this guy.... but... everything is just... I JUST NEED HELP!!! PLEASE!!!?

ok so i have had never really met this guy i like, he is very loud during class and funny. i like him, well i really want to meet him and get to know him btu i am VERY shy and unsocial. so my friend is okay friends with him (well they have talked kinda and yeah)) after school he was walking with us and while they were talking (i was not in the convo) my friend said "hey have you met (my name)?" we both looked at her and then i looked at him and very awkwardly said hi, he gave me a wave and then told hy friend that she just made things awkward!! **** i was blushing my head off.. now i don't know what to do, i don't know how to start talking to him and after this do you think he wont want to talk to me? PLEASE HELP ASAP...
