Artichoke Tea for Me ( read descriptions) ?

My mom heard about this artichoke tea that helps lose weight but my mom says I can't take it because I haven't fully developed and I am 13 ...but all you do is boil the artichoke and drink the tea pls answer so I can explain this too her thanks
